Hello there! My name is Danielle West and I am a second grade teacher here at Copper Ridge! I love teaching second grade and I enjoy working with all the students! Our community out by the school is amazing and I am grateful to be part of it! I taught fourth grade at Sycamore Elementary and then I came over to teach second grade when Copper Ridge opened. It was a great experience to help open a new school and I continue to really enjoy being here!
I am from two small towns in Minnesota. The town I was born in and went to school in had one stop light and the town I lived in only had a stop sign. I love being in the country and I love living in Vail! I moved to Tucson when I was in second grade. I lived in Rita Ranch and went to Mesquite Elementary for a while. I graduated from Sahuaro High School and then went to school for teaching. I then graduated from the University of Phoenix and became a teacher! I have a husband named Robby, and two boys: Robby Jr and Connor. Robby Jr also attends Copper Ridge!
I really enjoy working with and helping students! The following quote is one of my favorites: “A teacher takes a hand, opens a mind, and touches a heart!” I moved to Tucson in second grade and my parents divorced all in the same year. My second grade teacher was the most inspirational to me and I will never forget her! She helped me make friends, helped me learn, encouraged me to do my best even in hard times, and really impacted my life! I want to help students like she helped me! I want to be a positive impact for them and help them with anything I can! She may be why I am who I am today!
