Here you will find a variety of links to websites and resources commonly used by Copper Ridge students. If you are having trouble accessing any of these resources please contact your child’s teacher for help with login information or our Site Technology Coordinator.
Reading Counts – Reading Counts is a resource used by teachers to track students progress with their reading comprehension skills. Students complete quizzes to earn points to reach goals and become eligible for prizes throughout the school year. Reading Counts encourages students to read in their Lexile level and track their progress. (Available only during school hours and during Family Reading Nights)
Study Island – Study Island allows teachers to create an online learning environment where they can add assignments, monitor progress, enrich advanced learners, and provide opportunities for independent practice to students. Students can choose to complete assignments for class or practice additional content in a game environment.
Typing Agent – Typing fluency is becoming ever more important as our learning environment evolves in the twenty first century. Typing Agent provides a variety of instructional lessons and games for students to work on their keyboarding skills.
Scratch – Scratch is a programming language designed for Elementary and Middle school students to learn the basics of computer coding. Copper Ridge 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders are using it to program animated sequences, games, and basic apps.
Google Classroom – All Vail students are given google accounts to have access to a variety of Google for education apps including Docs, Sheets, Drive, and Slides. Teachers use Classroom to quickly share and exchange resources with students in class or from home. Teachers can assign work, share links, survey the class, and perform a variety of other tasks within Google Classroom.
