I am so pleased to be a First Grade Teacher here at Copper Ridge Elementary!  I have lived in Tucson for three years with my husband, stationed at Davis Monthan Air Force Base, and my dog, Chloe.  We love exploring and enjoying all the natural wonders that Arizona’s outdoors has to offer.

I grew up in the golden state of California in Pasadena.  I received my bachelor’s degree in English at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and my multiple subject teaching credential at Sonoma State University.   From there, I have enjoyed teaching in various grades and subjects.  I have had the pleasure of teaching first grade in Northern California, at-risk high school youth at a charter school in Southern California, and English to children and teens in Madrid, Spain where I lived for a year.  The 2018-19 school year will mark my third year teaching first grade at CRE, and I can’t wait to see what it has to offer!

In my free time, I enjoy reading, cooking, baking, swimming, hiking, camping, and traveling.  I have visited 13 different countries including Chile, El Salvador, Italy, Switzerland, and Austria, just to name a few!

My mission as a teacher is to provide an enriching educational experience where students can learn and grow academically.  My role is to facilitate exploration within all subjects and to foster a desire for learning.  I believe that the success of a classroom centers largely on building a culture of mutual respect and positivity, and on following the ACT statement.  I look forward to building that classroom with you and your student and having a successful, productive, and memorable first grade year!
